If you’re flying out of (or into I guess) JFK in the next few weeks: This is the time to trade in your miles for an upgrade. The long lines at check-in don’t bode well. But only after boarding they will tell you that there is a lot of construction going on and that you’ll be awkwardly taxying around the airport for “at least 60 minutes” (and you know what that means).
During takeoff, some 2 1/2 hours later, nothing will beat looking down at 80+ desperately blinking airplanes still lined up next to the runway, while you are sipping your Lufthansa champagne…
